I Have No Talent

I Have No Talent
I have no talent.
No. Really. That’s kind of you to disagree, but
I have no talent.
I didn’t earn this blog—it’s free.

I have no talent.
I do not know a participle from a predicate.
I have no talent.
That last line was stolen for crying out loud!

I have no talent.
I buy my shirts at Target.
I have no talent.
They are all solid colors.

I have no talent.
I work in marketing.
I have no talent.
I sell other people’s ideas.

I have no talent.
I still use the <b> tag.
I have no talent.
I’m just not <strong>.

I have no talent.
Under skills I say
“I have no talent.”
I don’t get many interviews that way.
I have no talent.

Fibro Orders a Pizza

Fibro wanted pizza for dinner.
I wanted to be 10 pounds thinner.
But I saw the hunger in his black eyes,
So I softened and I compromised.
“For me, order a salad Caesar,
But remember this when we’re old geezers:
When your arteries have turned to glue
I will not take care of you.
So think twice before you eat that slice.
Instead eat barley, wheat, and rice.”
But Fibro just laughed and said,
“Life without pizza? I’d rather be dead.”
